Orlando Lucas
Founded Lucas Tree Service, 1984
Built the company by hand on formal training and four decades of on-the-job experience. His name is on every truck, and his standard — do it right or don't do it — still governs every job.
Est. 1984Lucas Tree Service has been rooted in Northeast Florida for four decades. From Orlando's first job in 1984 to Joe's ISA certification, the commitment hasn't changed: do the job right, or don't do it at all.
In 1984, Orlando Lucas started a tree service company on the First Coast with little more than determination, a pickup truck, and an instinct for the work.
He built his reputation the slow, right way: showing up on time, giving honest assessments, charging fair prices, and leaving every yard cleaner than he found it. Word spread the way word spreads in a coastal community — neighbor to neighbor, street to street, season to season.
Over forty years, those same principles turned a one-man operation into the most trusted tree service on the First Coast. Orlando's name is still on every truck. His standards still govern every job.
Joe grew up around this business, then went and studied at the University of Alabama — before returning home to the First Coast to do the work he genuinely enjoys. He's the project manager and estimator, and, by his own family's description, "very much a people person."
Growing up in the family wasn't enough for Joe — he wanted the credential. He earned his ISA Certified Arborist designation (FL-9674A) by passing the International Society of Arboriculture's rigorous examination, covering tree biology, soil science, diagnosis, risk management, and ANSI pruning standards, and maintains continuing-education credits to keep it current.
Today Joe runs the arborist assessment before any significant job begins, and he's usually the one you'll talk to about your estimate. His credential is publicly verifiable at treesaregood.org using cert ID FL-9674A.

Marc has been around logging and tree work since he was a kid, and he'd rather be outdoors than anywhere else. On a Lucas job, he's the Job Foreman — and he has the final say on how the work gets done.
He's the liaison between the crew, the customer, and the project manager: the person making sure what Joe planned is exactly what happens in your yard, that the crew is working safely, and that the job is seen all the way through to a clean finish.
It's a structure that means nothing slips between the estimate and the cleanup — one family member assesses, one runs the crew, and the work answers to both.

Around logging and tree service from a young age. He has the final say on the ground, keeps the crew safe, and bridges customer, crew, and project manager so the job is seen all the way through.
Final say on siteWe tell you what a tree actually needs — removal, trimming, or nothing at all. We'd rather lose a job than oversell one.
Joe's ISA credential means every pruning decision follows arboricultural science — not habit, not shortcuts, not whatever costs less.
When a storm rolls through, you're not calling a voicemail box. You're reaching us. 24/7 emergency response means exactly that.
An ISA Certified Arborist has passed a comprehensive exam from the International Society of Arboriculture and must maintain continuing-education credits to keep the designation. On the First Coast, it's a meaningful distinction — and a relatively rare one.
Let's come out and look at your trees. No charge, no pressure.
